A project based course in which students will apply quantitative sustainable design tools

(life cycle assessment, life cycle costing, uncertainty and sensitivity analyses) to connect traditional engineering infrastructure or technology design to sustainability impacts.

A course in the application of laboratory skills and experiments relevant to drinking water and wastewater treatment processes.

A survey of the roles of microorganisms in environmental engineering processes. Students will gain understanding of selective pressures and their manipulation to perform beneficial functions.

A course in the application of laboratory skills and experiments relevant to drinking water and wastewater treatment processes. Graduate students will explore, discuss, and present on relevant analytical equipment used in Environmental Engineering Labs and in the specific context of their research.

A study of the role physical principles play in environmental processes. The class emphasizes fundamental physical knowledge at the microscale to understand environmental processes.

A survey of the roles of microorganisms in environmental engineering processes. Students will gain understanding of selective pressures and their manipulation to perform beneficial functions. Graduate students are required to write response articles to primary literature.
